System Banner

This guide explains how to create and manage system banners in your DATAMIMIC instance, helping you notify all users about the maintenance due to the instance will be locked down during the operation.

Overview

System banner is a feature that allows you to create a banner to notify all users about the maintenance due to the instance will be locked down during the operation.

Creating a Banner

Prerequisites

• User must have administrator privileges to access the banner functionality.

Create a Banner

1. Navigate to Dashboard → System Banner → Create Banner
2. Select the severity of the banner (INFO, WARNING, CRITICAL)
3. Enter the message. Ex: Performing Maintenance at 11:00 AM UTC
4. Click on Active
5. Click on Create

Updating a Banner

1. Navigate to Dashboard → System Banner
2. Select the banner to update
3. Update fields as needed
4. Click on Update

Removing a Banner

Tip

You can also just deactivate the banner to remove it from the UI.

1. Navigate to Dashboard → System Banner
2. Select the banner to delete
3. Click on Remove

Activating/Deactivating a Banner

1. Navigate to Dashboard → System Banner
2. Select the banner to activate/deactivate
3. Click on Activate/Deactivate
4. Click on Update

Banner Display

The banner will be displayed on the bottom of the page. The style of the banner will be based on the severity of the banner.
